225 – The Lifelong Evolving Obsession Quell
| 16. August, 2018

Pop Culture Obsessions That Have Lasted A Lifetime

It's another Fighting in The War Room Quarter Quell!

This episode sees each host bring the subject of a lifelong, probably evolving obsession with a piece of pop culture. First, at 2:12, David brought this all about by wanting to talk about Radiohead. At 28:28 Katey builds off an earlier Quarter Quell appearence by The Music Man and adds Oklahoma! to talk about obsessing over musicals. At 48:12, Dave recounts how he got into Sherlock Holmes, specifically the Jeremy Brett series. At 1:02:25, Patches rounds out the episode discussing his love of Trivia.

To Each Host, a Netflix Gift: A Reccommendation of a Foriegn Film From a Listener.

It's our EIGHTH Quell as Fighting in The War Room!

This episode is brought to you by YOU the listener, who helped choose this episodes movies from the following criteria: it must be available to stream, you should reccommend it to one of our podcast hosts, and we'd like it to be a foriegn film. That's how the four of us dove into Netflix films we probably wouldn't have watched. Tune in to hear about Katey and Train to Busan (Korea), David and Liebe Mich! It's only as political as it needs to be.

It's our sixth Quell as Fighting in The War Room! After polling listeners for Quarter Quell topics, the crew ends up selecting a winner, then tweakign the wording a bit. What they're left with is a prompt to bring movies that represent what they want to see in America. Da7e brings Mr. Smith Goes To Washington for basically the reasons you'd assume, Katey looks back to Juno and a suburbia full of characters, Patches justifies why he selected Michael Haneke's Caché, and David picks a full-length dance movie with Girl Walk All Day.
