This week, another Sundance Film Festival has Patches and David off in the snowy mountains, watching a ton of movies most of us won’t get to see for months. As per usual, we have a dispatch from the festival as the main segment on this episode. Meanwhile, back in the rest of the world, Katey and Da7e talk about the Academy’s new attempts to diversify in the face of racial backlash and Da7e will attempt to communicate how excited he is about The X-Files.

David has gone to Telluride as Katey, Patches and Da7e stay behind to talk about these dregs of the summer movie season. First, this weekend sees the release of foreign horror movie Goodnight Mommy, Patches and Da7e have both seen it and want to ask Katey if a twist can actually hurt your viewing of a film. Then, Patches wants to see The Bastard Executioner unspool and will we remember the past two decades of Best Picture winners as fondly as the Oscar winners of the early years?

This week, Katey, Patches, David and Da7e are still winding down from Oscar Season and have decided to devote the entire show to critiquing the 2014 Academy Awards Telecast and a few Oscar recipients, so they can reunite and celebrate and even do some bets in the baccarat online, so everyone could have some fun. Each of the four bring a gripe for discussion and many an offensive tangent is explored from the social etiquette of selfless to a scolding for laughing at the dyslexic. Oh, also 12 Years A Slave begs the question if awarding Best Picture to race films dilute their reception. Hoo boy!
