119 – DANGER! A Short Episode
Episodes»Legacy | | 18. May, 2016

Former U.S. Congressman and current New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner leaves his apartment building, in New York, Wednesday, July 24, 2013. On Tuesday Weiner made a public mea culpa for a newfound sexting scandal that erupted amid the mayoral run he hopes will rewrite his political future. (AP Photo/Richard Drew)

When Segment 3 Got Deleted

This week, Katey, Patches, Da7e and David suffer some technical difficulties, so this week’s segment 3 about hte “Game of Thrones” phenomena had to get cut (it was full of static and pauses, you would have hated it). After a now ironic couple of reviews that include audio quality knocks, the team takes on Weiner, the new documentary that closely follows the Anthony Weiner scandal. Then, Patches is on the Dakota Johnson train now that he’s seen How to be Single. Then the show wraps up because of technical difficulties. Drag. We’ll fix it.

With returning guest Jordan Hoffman!

This week, Dave, Katey, Patches, and special guest Jordan Hoffman of The Guardian invest all their critical thoughts into two cinematic options: Money Monster, the latest from director Jodie Foster, and High-Rise, Ben Wheatley’s dystopian fever dream. Are George Clooney and Julia Roberts feeling bullish? Did Tom Hiddleston charm their pants off? All that and your answers to this week’s Lobster-themed lightning round question, on this week’s review episode.

A podcast about Comics Pop Culture!

Hello FITWR listeners, Republic City Dispatch fanatics and Storm of Spoilers/Cast of Kings fantasy nerds, we’re back for more comics discussion!

New comics enthusiast Joanna Robinson of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood and The Station Agents podcast is joined by a Spider-Man fan,  Da7e Gonzales of Geek.com and  Latino-Review.com

No matter your level of engagement, if you’re interested in comic books and their surrounding pop culture, this show’s for you!

SPOILER WARNING  – DO NOT START THIS EPISODE UNLESS YOU HAVE SEEN OR ARE OKAY WITH PLOT DETAILS ABOUT CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR

THIS WEEK: Joanna and Da7e are back, and now Joanna has seen the third Captain America movie. Before delving into a lengthy evaluation of the movie and the Sokovia Accords (Jo is #TeamCap, Da7e is #TeamIronMan), the duo stop to appreciate that Kevin Smith directed a kick-ass Zack Stentz-written episode of CW’s The Flash called “The Runaway Dinosaur.” After that, it’s all Civil War discussion, baby, yeah.

A GAME OF THRONES PODCAST FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO TALK ABOUT SPOILERS

With Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair, Dave Gonzales from Geek.com and Neil Miller from Film School Rejects!

WARNING

If you’re looking for spoiler-free dissection of the highest caliber, or reading along with Season One of the HBO show, you’re looking for A CAST OF KINGS (click there)

Welcome back to A STORM OF SPOILERS!

This is the Storm of Spoilers episode for Season 6, Episode 3 “Oathbreaker.”

CLICK HERE to get your Jon Snow Lives Storm of Spoilers t-shirt with awesome flaming sword of Azor Ahai design. We’ve brought them back with 2SleeveTees in honor of the living Lord Commander.

There was a lot of stuff happening this episode (and, you know, Tommen stuff), so the three masters of the Citadel of Crazytown jump all over the episode to find the most delicious bits. First, Da7e and Neil put Joanna in Social Justice Warrior time out to talk about hopes of the #CleganeBowl. Then, Joanna roars back to talk about how Jon Snow does not have a wolf brain. Everyone liked the Tower of Joy bits we got this episode and Da7e thinks he knows why Bran can interact with people in his visions (and how this will go badly, because it’s Game of Thrones).

HEADS UP – mid-way through the episode, we’re unable to hold back the juicy spoilers we’ve heard about the Battle of the Bastards this season. If you’re here for informed speculation spoilage, this is the season six moment you’ve been waiting for!

Follow Neil (@rejects), Joanna (@jowrotethis), Da7e (@da7e) and the show (@StormofSpoilers) on Twitter!
