A GAME OF THRONES PODCAST THAT IS TALKING ABOUT OTHER GREAT POP CULTURE DURING THE OFF SEASON

With Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair, Dave Gonzales from Geek.com and Neil Miller from Film School Rejects!

Welcome to another off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS!

This week, our hosts take trip to Yorktown via Lin Manuel Miranda's Broadway sensation Hamilton! It was by far our most requested off season tour stop and on top of providing a few production insights to the show and Joanna sharing her knowledge of the play's production, the crew spends a good deal of time sharing personal memories and trying to dig into what it is about musicals that make them a special form of storytelling and adaptation.

THIS WEEK'S TIMECODES:

0:00:00 – Intro, Game of Thrones News

0:14:58 – Hamilton and Musicals

1:24:54 – Bubbling/Fall Preview Preview

It's the seventh off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS!

It's finally CRAFTSMANSHIP appreciation week on Storm Of Spoilers, as we examine how Laika adapts Neil Gaiman books to entire cultures to the screen to tell us grand stories about love, loss and being an outsider.

Here is that animation from Fantasia 2000 that Da7e mentions.
Here is that Boxtrolls end scene that Neil mentions.

133 – Amazon’s The Tick with Returning Guest Griffin Newman!
Episodes»Guest Host | | 23. August, 2016

This week, Joanna is mysteriously gone as Patches, David and Da7e wrap up the summer. Starting off with a discussion about a series of tweets about original summer movies from author Mark Harris and transitioning into a short list of Summer Superlatives (like the best performance). Then, since he’s basically the star of Amazon’s The Tick pilot (where he plays Arthur the sidekick), we thought it’d be great to have Griffin Newman back on the show (he was on Episode 19 back when Draft Day was out). The guys probe Griffin to get the EXCLUSIVE on his history with ticks, then some really cool information on how he ended up in this version of The Tick.

Take a listen, embed and/or download below; for more from all of us on Twitter: follow the show (@FITWR),  Da7e (@da7e)  Patches (@misterpatches), David (@davidehrlich) and special guest Griffin Newman (@grifflightning).
