With Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair, Dave Gonzales from Geek.com and Neil Miller from Film School Rejects!
It's the seventh off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS!
This week, our hosts take trip to Japan for Laika stop motion studios newest feature Kubo and the Two Strings, which isn't adapted from anything, but is the fourth beautiful stop motion movie from the studio that all three hosts love, even if they aren't huge blockbuster hits. It's finally CRAFTSMANSHIP appreciation week on Storm Of Spoilers, as we examine how Laika adapts Neil Gaiman books to entire cultures to the screen to tell us grand stories about love, loss and being an outsider.
Here is that animation from Fantasia 2000 that Da7e mentions.
Here is that Boxtrolls end scene that Neil mentions.
THIS WEEK'S TIMECODES:
0:00:00 – Intro, Game of Thrones News
0:11:46 – Kubo and the Two Strings, Coraline, Paranorman and The Boxtrolls

This week, Joanna is mysteriously gone as Patches, David and Da7e wrap up the summer. Starting off with a discussion about a series of tweets about original summer movies from author Mark Harris and transitioning into a short list of Summer Superlatives (like the best performance). Then, since he’s basically the star of Amazon’s The Tick pilot (where he plays Arthur the sidekick), we thought it’d be great to have Griffin Newman back on the show (he was on Episode 19 back when Draft Day was out). The guys probe Griffin to get the EXCLUSIVE on his history with ticks, then some really cool information on how he ended up in this version of The Tick.

It's the sixth off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS! This week, our hosts travel back into their own pasts to see how it stacks up against Netflix's Sci-Fi/Horror/80s series Stranger Things. They all have thoughts on how successful this "homage" to the 1980s is and – of course – some crazy crackpot theories about what happened and what WILL (pun intended) happen next season. Joanna and Neil also loop in the new Pete's Dragon movie and Brain K. Vaughn's comic book series Paper Girls to talk about successfully mining a bygone period for fun (or touching) pop culture. THIS WEEK'S TIMECODES:

This week's closing track:

AUDIO NOTE – David’s microphone began generating static during segment three when the laptop he was recording began to run low on memory. We corrected the issue as much as we could and will avoid it in the future. Thanks.
This week, Patches, Joanna, David and Da7e talk about Pajiba’s Open Letter to Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara that started the rumor that Wonder Woman, next year’s DC Fils installment, might not be good. That’s after Joanna, David, and Patches discuss Netflix’s new show The Get Down about the birth of hip hop in New York and all four hosts quickly list off some pop culture they feel on the outside of at the moment.
