Wow. Just: wow. Wow in an unbelievably positive manner.
Myers-Briggs for the ATLA cast. You may have to zoom in a little, but it’s worth it. Dragonjam, this is relevant!

Yo. Heard the hate you’ve been getting because of your podcast for episode 4, and I just wanted to say how jerky people are being. Everyone says dumb stuff sometimes, and honestly the whole “Korra is not the avatar” theory wasn’t even that stupid. It was definitely no where near stupid enough to be unforgivable. Anyway, I still love you guys, and I’m excited for your next podcast. Cheers!

comment from lackingapoint:
“Korra can’t do Airbending because she’s "as opposite to an Airbender as you can get.” Her words and that’s very obvious, lol. She’s the Avatar. Don’t worry guys. In fact, the original title of the show (as you guys addressed) was “Avatar: The Legend of Korra” but they lost the rights. You guys really DO read too much into it… Just saiyan. That being said, I do love listening to the show! Keep it up!“

From @inkasrain:
Strange and slightly unsettling theory that occured to me when you mentioned the world no longer needing an Avatar: What if it’s not that Korra isn’t the Avatar, but that she *is* and must choose not to be? What if Korra must allow herself to lose her bending, and learn that her power is not in mystical abilities, but in her own personality– and this is what makes her worthy of being a leader of benders and non-benders both? It does seem thematically apt, albeit terribly bittersweet.

Yes. I really like the storytelling complexities about what you’re saying. I don’t know that I (or anyone) know has enough hints from the four episodes already broadcast, but I’d be all in for this kind of twist.
Although I may not be too much on the “Korra is not the Avatar” Matt Patches theory train, I do think that Korra has to deal with something no other Avatar has had to deal with before, and that’s Republic City.
So, I think Aang changed something about being Avatar and we’ll spend this season figuring out what that is.
I’ll go with whatever theory tells me the best story! : )

Well, here’s kicking off the big question of this week:
CAN SOMEONE SOURCE ME THE THING THAT SAYS TOPH IS DEAD?

The Avatar Wika page for her reads: “Toph passed away sometime before 170 ASC, but a statue now stands in her honor at Republic City’s police headquarters.[7]”
But that little 7 that is supposed to link to the source leads to an interview with Andrea Romano, voice casting director, who only says a few lines about Korra, one of them being
_______________________________________________
Q: Will Aang in any way be in the series?
ANDREA ROMANO: I don’t know how much of the series I’m allowed to tell you, but that whole generation has died. It’s the next generation. So it’s really cool. It’s the same producers. It’s the same brilliant attention to detail and I’m very excited. Right now we are just making twelve of them and we’ll see what happens.

Michael: So Toph, as you know, was a metal bender. She kind of like, travelled the world, started teaching people, earth benders, how to harness this ability. It’s still kind of a rare thing. Not every earth bender does metal bending but, we have these kind of, it’s the elites, kind of swat team of Republic City.“
Remember all that chi-blocking/energy bending/“remember the Lion Turtle” stuff Da7e brought up yesterday with the map of the upper torso’s chi centers?
Well, listener ERIC e-mailed again with the above link that goes into more detail about the contact with chi centers required to energy bend! Click here or the title to go check it out!
