Curse you, iTunes!

Some of you have alerted me, Da7e, that Republic City Dispatch is currently UNSEARCHABLE on iTunes. Even if I go to the direct store URL:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/republic-city-dispatch/id520158367

I’m told it’s not available in the US Store.

Not sure why, everything used on the podcast, audio wise, was given to us and used with permission. And it’s not like we’re even gone as the FEED through iTunes works just fine.

As I figure this out, here are the options for our iTunes users:

1) Aw, heck, just download Episdoes 1-16 HERE in a single 523 MB ZIP file. Then you have them all.

2) You can still subscribe to the podcast using the new iTunes. Got to FILE>ADVANCED in the pull down menu and select SUBSCRIBE TO PODCAST…

A window will open up with a place for you to put the Feed URL.

Copy this and put it there:

Legend of Korra Season 2 Arriving in Fall 2013

That’s what Nickelodeon bigwig press releases suggests. Here’s the quote that was attached to Nick’s upfront:

“For the 2013-14 season, the network will also roll out new episodes of returning hit animated series, including season two of The Legend of Korra, SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, Winx Club, T.U.F.F. Puppy, Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and Robot and Monster.”

I need to go unlock a Chakra that will allow me to be at peace with this news. – Patches

Hi guys I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem but i can’t listen to your latest podcast, SoundCloud is telling me there’s an error. Do you guys post these anywhere else?

If you’re using a subscription service like Stitcher, iTunes, Downcast, etc, our various RSS feeds are listed HERE.

And if that still isn’t working, I’ll let you in on a little secret – Me (Da7e)? I’m really lazy with file names. So you can access the MP3 directly at:

However, as of episode 16, you’re the first one reporting an error. One of these methods should work.

Hey, what happened to making a podcast at least once a month? What’s going on? We haven’t heard anything new from you all.

Sorry! Sorry! We’re Sorry! 🙂

Did I mention how sorry we are?

Here’s what’s up: We’ve got jobs, a hurricane hit us, Devindra got engaged, Da7e’s about to switch jobs and there were some complications with some of our grander plans.

As far as we know, there isn’t official word on a major Korra release we have to talk about. The Season 1 DVD should be coming soon, I’d expect and episode from us on that.

Elsewise, it’s a period of downtime while we wait for new comics to start up and for some official news on Book 2 to come our way. We’re still investigating doing a re-watch of the original series. Our commentary track was an experiment to see if that workflow went well.

Point being – WE’RE SORRY! – We had big, big plans for doing a podcast once a month in the off season. BUT, we error’d on the side of waiting until we knew what we were going to talk about, roughly.

Anywho – The more Korra stuff that starts happening (that isn’t just people putting Korra on year-end lists), the closer we’ll be to new Dispatch Episodes.

Not to mention we’ll be back every week once Book 2 starts, we’re committing to that.

Devindra, Patches and I are all in the New York Area, but all fine. We were lucky to be in three places that haven’t been horribly damaged.

That being said, New York is crazy right now as you can probably notice from a small amount of Googling/Social Networking.

Why HELLLLLLLLLLLO Dispatchers!

Anyone still around? : )

Tonight is the series finale of Teen Mom at 10PM on MTV, so guess who has some time free’d up? That’s right, me.

Patches and Devindra are oh-so-ready to do another episode and rather than wait until next month to do a full walkthrough of THE PROMISE once it completes (which we plan on doing), we thought we’d touch base and put out our first full-cast RCDispatch since the finale.

We’re going to talk a little about what we expect from Season 2 and we’re going to talk through Paramount Animation and how soon that means we might maybe get a Korra movie.

WHAT ELSE? Updates? How was your summer? Did you make some awesome cosplay? Is there a bunch of fan fic we’re missing? WHAT? WHAT?

You’ll have to excuse us, we were doing our non-Korra things. But that doesn’t mean we haven’t been aching to get back.

About That Possible Korra Movie…

Hi RCDers!

Patches was on vacation, I’m making some reality TV, Devindra is becoming a cyborg…or waiting for the iPhone 5 release, it’s hard for me to tell the difference.

BUT – we’re all still working, just not every day on something Korra. Look for us to announce when our next episode will be (and what it will be about) soonish.

While we’re all working, steeped in news of technology, movies and pop culture, I came across this Variety story.

BETWEEN THE LINES: DreamWorks Animation is looking to move out from under Paramount’s studio umbrella, which is about to put a lot of pressure on Paramount Animation to come up with animated movies for the studio, given the lead time it takes to make an animated feature. Paramount Animation has 2011’s RANGO under it’s belt, but otherwise has been used to distribute Nickelodeon SpongeBob, Rugrats and Jimmy Nuetron movies.

Now that Paramount Animation has to ramp up, they are pulling from the likes of JJ Abrams for original projects and…looking to Nickelodeon.

Currently on Nickelodeon, the top rated show that they’d like to continue for as long as possible is Korra.

The stars slowly align to bring us an animated Korra movie. I’m not saying expect an announcement, I’m saying the business is providing a throughway for the conversation to take place.

BUT – and here’s the one you need to spread to all your fragile emotional Korra friends – just because someone says The Legend of Korra *might* be part of this deal does not mean that people are actually talking about a Korra movie right now. It just means that it’s possible.

Thought I’d stop by and make you all as cautiously optimistic by this non-news as I am.

Grey DeLisle, voice of Azula has tweeted that she will be returning to the Avatar universe in The Legend of Korra: Book 2 as “The Dark Spirit.”
