Normally, I would just ride on the coattails of whatever end-of-the-week episode sketch Joaquim posts, because he does those better than I do/can, but it looks like he didn’t get a chance to do one this week. So I did a quick Asami painting to accompany the airing of episode 107 today. Hope you guys enjoy that one! It’s a doozy.

Actually, PunchCatPunch, you’re one of the biggest dorks ever and we’re super impressed.
Everything’s pretty much done except for the hair/hair accessories/armwarmers.
I am the biggest dork ever and I don’t even care.
I don’t know why this song works so well with Asami and Korra, but it totally does. Which is why we posted it yesterday. Rock on, fandom.
HA!
Yes. Yes, ATLA-Annotated, I love your nerdgasm worthy posts.
The Imperial Roofs of the Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom
Both, the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom have golden- red roofs. They follow the Chinese architectural feature of yellow roof tiles/roofs indicating an imperial building.
Note how both, Caldera and Upper Ring in Ba Sing Se have yellow/red roofs, and the Lower and Middle Ring do not. While all buildings in the Fire Nation seem to be Ozai’s buildings (but for the Painted Lady village, they have thatched roofs.)
As I have mentioned before, the flame ornaments and steeply upturned roofs, especially of the Caldera and Ember Island, resemble traditional Thai architecture (compare the Royal Palace in Bankok).
Please also compare the Royal Palace in Tokyo, which does not feature yellow or red roofs.

First – thank you for not being bothered. I apologize for my 2 hours of freak out. That is over now, and I used that time to wade through the fandom and respond to people’s comments.
ADDITIONALLY – That’s Matt Patches’ theory and he’s sort of walking it back. BUT –
If I had to guess, I still think that when Amon knocks Korra out in A Voice In The Night, he hits her in the same forehead chi spot that he takes people’s bending away with. I’m suggesting that Amon is actually triggering Korra’s flashbacks.
That doesn’t mean she is or is not the Avatar, I just think Amon was, like: “If this girl doesn’t learn air, it’s kind of pointless to make an example of her,” so he gave her a little push and now he’s just waiting.
Like Bane, sort of, if we want to think in Batman terms. Sort of like Bane: set up your adversary over a prolonged period of time so when you face them, you are more prepared than they are.
(I’m not saying Amon is going to break Korra’s back, though, that’s too dark)

Hey. That was me.
That was me, Da7e.
I’m aware I did it, I can hear it when I listen to the podcast, but I’m not, like, going to re-edit the sound file or anything.
I know how to pronounce things, I’m watching the same show everyone else is, but somewhere between watching Korra and making the podcast, I try to use my brain-power to think of things like Tahno’s liquid eye-liner jokes instead of “is there a hard A sound in Japanese spellings?”
IMHO, I’m not disrespecting the show or creators or anything, I’m not doing it on purpose and by the time I’m flooded with two dozen e-mails/tumblrs/comments yelling at me, the show has already been issued to a few thousand people.
Sooooo – oops, but I’m not sitting here in my own little world and thinking everything is fine.
This was the nicest person who attempted to correct me. Everything else got deleted.
I’l try again next week.

Yes, FatK55, I am with you.
I think the longer we find villains that aren’t Amon, the more likely that Amon ends up being not as villainous as we think.
I’m starting to think that Yakone is our rouge firebender who has been killing everyone’s parents (seriously, what’s with fire benders killing parents?) and Aang had to put him down. In that sense, Korra and Amon could end up being on the same side of the issue after Korra remembers whatever she’s supposed to from those flashback glimpses.
Either way, yes, up until last week I would have told you that I was 70% sure that Amon would be sympathetic by the end of his arc. Then he blew up the pro-bending arena and I was like: “Ugh, well, that’s kind of drak, but maybe there’s something more here…”
…
…
…and I’m waiting for Amon to show up again.
Thanks for the theory! I like it!

Oh, I don’t know about that. I still think we haven’t seen the last of Asami’s struggles with being good.
And “like Toph” now means “at some point grew a 6th finger:”

Yeah, that’s been freaking me out since last week.

It is the credits music from The Legend of Korra by The Track Team. I don’t think it’s called anything besides “Credits” right now, or that’s how we have it listed, and that’s how it was given to us.
-Da7e-
I like “Spirit” and that does seem to be where we are thematically going. I could also see “Metal,” even though that would be less thematically relevant, it would seem.
The arguement for “Metal” would be that metal-bending would sub in for “Technology” since you can’t really name a book “Technology,” I don’t think.
Let’s just call it “LeeLoo.” That’s obviously the fifth element.

MULTIPASS!
This is the free Tumblr “Esquire” theme. I believe the other one was called “Penguin” or something like that.
Either way, we chose this new theme purely based on the features it has. The colors are a bit wonky and this design doesn’t necessarily compliment the style of the show, BUT – now everyone isn’t stuck waiting for a new Q&A post to talk about new theories and people don’t have to use the “ASK” link to correct me/cite a source/talk about stuff.
If form ends up being more important than function, we can always go back, but people seem to be using the comments. : )

Thank you!
This layout is an attempt to allow everyone to talk amongst themselves in the comments section, maybe post some bigger images and keep the menu on a sidebar so you can always jump to episodes.
We’re about 24 hours into it and mostly it’s given people more plentiful ways to try and correct our pronunciation of names. The majority of you are being nice about it, but I’m not psyched about getting yelled at every morning when I stop by to answer some questions.
Que Sera Sera, folks. It’s not like “SAY-to” could be another character, you know? We’ll get better.
Until then, Squirtle Fire Ferrets!

We do not know anything about Zuko’s daughter in-show, just that she exists from the Nick.com game.
Apparently his daughter IS the current Fire Lord, which makes me wonder if she’s the female member of the Council (the only female on the Council reps the Fire Nation, but please nicely tell me if we know that character’s name).
That council member is also voiced by the same voice actress who does Beifong (Mindy Sterling), so it seems unlikely she’d play a major part, but you never know. Not to mention there might still be a Fire Lord and an Earth King and leaders for the Northern and Southern Water Tribes that are NOT on the Council. We haven’t seen or heard about how Council members get their appointments.
As for Zuko showing up, that will happen in “Skeleton In The Closet” and I have a feeling all our questions will be answered:
