Review – I, Frankenstein Surprisingly Not Really About Frankenstein’s Monster
| 24. January, 2014

With electrifying guest Perri Nemiroff

While the Katey, Patches and David cats are away, the Da7e mouse plays by reviewing this year’s ridiculpus sci-fi/fantasy January release. Not since the days of Contraband has Da7e needed to bring the hammer down on a film in such a way, as it’s revealed I, Frankenstein is actually more about the design of Gargoyles and Demons more than the story of a self-actualizing monster. To help the Da7e monster self-actualize, he brought in returning guest Perri Nemiroff so he wouldn’t be shouting alone, into a void

With a Special SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL Update from Matt Patches and Jordan Hoffman!

This week, it’s a Frankenstein episode in the sense that Katey, David and Da7e assemble in chilly New York City to discuss the feminism of Beyoncé Knowles’ December album release and answer a listener voicemail about why so many film reviews choose to not be overwhelmingly negative or glaringly positive. Finally, the torso of the show has been stitched onto the legs in the form of a third segment with Matt Patches reporting from Park City Utah where he and recurring guest Jordan Hoffman have the scoop on this year’s festival so far.

Oh, and that SCREEN BITES review of Sherlock Series 3 episode 1 that Da7e mentions? THAT’S RIGHT HERE.

Don’t Ask Siri…

This week, Katey and David call Patches in Utah to tell him they’ve fallen in love with their operating systems and have various opinions about how good or bad that is for them. Do Joaquin Phoenix and Spike Jonze have something convincing and touching to say about technology and relationships or does David just want to squash this film like a bug?

006 – And The 2014 Academy Award Nominees Are…Discussed

Which of your favorites are discussed and which are dubbed disgusting? This episode is more fun than being kidnapped by savages and being abandoned by all but God.

This week, it’s a very special late episode so we could all process yesterday’s 2014 Oscar Nominations. Matt Patches is in Utah for Sundance and Da7e has been left behind in the cold city to see the screenings no one else wanted to cover. The often intrepid Katey and David draft the ever intrepid Chris Rosen from the Huffington Post to discuss this year’s nominees in a delicious single segment episode of unexpected nominees, glaring oversights and – for the purposes of SEO – SNUBS SNUBS SNUBS.
