One of these hosts was raised by trolls, and it’s exactly whom you expect.

This week, David and Patches outfit themselves in the latest cardboard fashion and come up from their troll lair to review the latest from Laika animation, The Boxtrolls. And because they can’t help themselves, they touch on The Equalizer, an absolute miss from Antoine Fuqua and star Denzel Washington.

And Da7e Liked The Good Lie

This week, Da7e, Patches, Joanna and David dig into what it means that Fox has decided to give Ryan Reynolds another shot at being a superhero and the internet comic fans what they want with a Deadpool movie in 2016. What does this have to do with superhero movies if anything? And while Joanna still sits in for Katey, Da7e wants to grill her on her feelings about the new 8th season of Dr. Who, maybe just so he can also talk about it. That and Da7e liked The Good Lie the sort-of-Reese Witherspoon movie about The Lost Boys of the Sudan.

David and Patches from The Glade

This week, David and Patches walk the puzzling pathways week’s wide releases, navigating through Shawn Levy’s Hollywoodized indie This Is Where I Leave You and the latest dysoptian YA adaptation, The Maze Runner. Does the September slump continue or is the upswing in full effect. That and answers to this week’s lightning round question on movies that took a few tries to digest, on this week’s review ep.

Oh, Say, Can You See? That They’re Talking About Kevin Smith Too?

This week, Katey’s gone AWOL, so it’s up to returning champion Matt Patches to set the tone for the show. Patches wants to talk about A.O. Scott’s New York Times essay on the death of adulthood (LINK), then he wants to discuss The Star-Spangled Banner in honor of it’s 200th anniversary. Then, in honor of Tusk, Kevin Smith’s new horror film that Patches has seen, it’s back to the Kevin Smith well to check in: what do we all think about the Askew View of this now Tusk and Red State filmmaker? That plus a lightning round question about confusing movies.
