This podcast: EVERYONE DIES!

This week, Katey, Da7e, and Patches have come to you from the past. This last Tuesday as a matter of fact, to let you know their thoughts on Bryan Singer’s return to the X-Men franchise he brought so much attention to: X-Men: Days of Future Past. They struggle to describe the intricacies of a plot that doesn’t have a lot of stakes, praise a few sequences for delivering on the promise of the characters, then delve into a spoiler section (with ample warning!) to talk about the crazy ending to the movie. That plus your lighting round answers about film duos you’d like to see in better movies.

RRRRRAAAAAARRRRRNNNNGHHHH!

This week, Katey, David, and Patches awake from hibernation to attack the latest reboot of the Godzilla franchise. After the blunder of Roland Emmerich’s 1998 Godzilla, is there any way to breath atomic life back into this 60 year old character? Monsters director Gareth Edwards answers that question with his leap into mega-budgeted summer blockbuster territory — and our trio is ready to rumble. That, a lightning round on the TV actor or actress you want to see bump up to movie stardom, and more on this week’s Fighting in the War Room review.

REVIEW – Doppelgänging Up On The Double
| 9. May, 2014

Plus some thoughts on Chef and Palo Alto!

This week, David and Patches confront their doppelgängers in a review of Submarine director Richard Ayoade’s follow up feature, The Double. Is it a mirror image of influences or stylish serving of Russian lit-inspired noir? Along with the main review, the guys touch on Jon Favreau’s Chef and Palo Alto, the debut of Francis Ford’s grandaughter, Gia Coppola. No lightning round question this week, but the keep the conversation going on these films and more in the comments.

REVIEW – Amazing Spider-Mess or Amazing Spider-Man? Let’s Ask Some Spider-Fans, 2
| 2. May, 2014

With The Dissolve’s Matt Singer and Cinemablend’s Sean O’Connell.

This week, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 hits theaters and Patches sees fit to draw three fans of Spider-Man in to get their varying reactions. Sean O’Connell and Matt Singer return the show and join Da7e and Patches in picking apart Marc Webb’s sequel. Will the franchise suffer from villain over-load once again? Is this bombastic sequel too disjointed to function? That plus a spoiler section to discuss the film’s ending and your Lighting Round answers about movies you get sh*t for.
