| 2. December, 2014

FITWR-STAR-WARS

Each Host Brings A Film On Their Mindset

This week, we’re changing up the format for our 50th Episode Quarter Quell Special! It’s been a long time podcasting for Katey, Da7e, David and Patches, so each host brought a film that timestamps something about their mindset right now. Newly married Katey sees marriage in Neighbors, Da7e brings Raiders of the Lost Ark as a metaphor for his move to Colorado, David’s turned 30 and chooses 13 Going on 30 and Patches ends the podcast on <sarcasm> a lighter note </sarcasm> by contemplating mortality with Synecdoche NY.

And fear Babadook!

This week, David, Katey, and Patches work tirelessly to create their own Christopher Machine, a proto-computer capable of cracking the code within the new biopic The Imitation Game. Benedict Cumberbatch stars as scientist Alan Turing in this WWII-themed espionage drama, but does his gravitas bring enough life to the straightforward biopicisms? Find out that, plus chatter on The Babadook, the most terrifying horror movie in quite some time, on this week’s review episode.

Plus Katey Rich’s Movie Quote Trivia Returns!

This week, Katey, Patches, David and Da7e have heard tell the Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser is going to be in a select number of theaters and are all pretty much in favor of the theatrical trailer experience. Then, inspired by Babadook, each host recommends some performances this year that probably won’t get rewards recognition. Finally, inspired by The Theory of Everything, Imitation Game and Interstellar, the group discusses using science in your movie. All that plus and Infinite Ticket lighting round question!

And a brief review of A Girl Walks Home Alone

This week, Patches, David, and Katey incite revolt against (or in the name of?) the latest Hunger Games installment, Mockingjay – Part 1. Is Katniss still the hero we need? #TeamPeeta or #TeamGale? Can David name any of the characters in the movie? All this and a brief review of A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night on this week’s review episode.
