69 – Long Takes, Big Stakes
| 29. April, 2015

Plus Kirsten Wiig in Welcome to Me

This week, Katey, Patches and David  are down a Da7e. Patches takes the reigns and wants to talk about director Shara Piven’s Welcome to Me starring Kirsten Wiig before pummeling Katey and David with a round of TRIVIA (it’s been awhile!). Finally, the trio talks about long single takes in cinema with a side of Avengers: Age of Ultron.

REVIEW – Age of Adaline
| 24. April, 2015

The-Age-of-Adaline-2015-5

With special guests Kate Erbland and Richard Lawson!

This week Katey is thrilled to announce the Fighting in the War Room spinoff dedicated solely to Blake Lively, called Reserved for Preserve.
Or she could also just be reviewing The Age of Adaline, with special guests Kate Erbland (@Katerbland) and Richard Lawson (@rilaws). Starring Blake Lively as a woman who has remained 29 years old for nearly a century, and both Michiel Huisman and Harrison Ford (yes, really) as men she loves, it’s a weird movie full of made-up science and gorgeous clothes. But would you believe it’s also . . . kind of good?

Take a listen, embed and/or download below; for more from all of us on Twitter: follow the show (@FITWR), Katey (@kateyrich), Patches (@misterpatches) and David (@davidehrlich or @CriterionCorner).

68 – If Star Wars Was Streaming, Why Go Anywhere Anymore?
| 22. April, 2015

And why the answer might be film festivals.

This week, Katey, Da7e, David and Patches are coming off that week with the Star Wars trailer. OK, Patches isn’t watching any Star Wars publicity, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t everywhere. Katey, Patches and David go to Tribecca Film Festival and only physically share the same space during a George Lucas event. Is this the year we finally deem Tribecca worthy? Then, Katey think she’s knows about Harrison Ford’s comeback because she’s seen Age of Adeline. Finally, with things increasingly made available in live stream, VOD or on the, is it worth going anywhere anymore? The answer is yes, but the scope might be narrower than you think.

67 – We Talk About Superhero Movies Too Much
| 15. April, 2015

And their villains are uninteresting

This week, Katey, Da7e, and Patches are at the whims of THE EHRLICH, who thinks we talk about superhero movies too much online, on social media and in publications. He wants to discuss why and not so much the upcoming superhero films. Then, on a stay-cation with his girlfriend, David enjoys Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsmen: The Secret Service twice. Finally, why are all these mainstream blockbuster movies populated by uninteresting villains?
