| 29. September, 2015

And everyone calls their Best Picture shot way too early.

This week, Katey, Patches, David and Da7e are all together although they all haven't watched the same amount of HBO's Project Greenlight. All four of them have at least seen an episode, so they talk about producing a film and representation and if Effie Brown the producer is the best or has room for improvement. Then, David forces everyone to award Best Picture right now, mostly to things they haven't seen. Finally, Robert Zemeckis' The Walk comes out this week and it is one of those experience movies that is going to take you on a 3D journey, this leads the group into a discussion about the future of VR in entertainment. That plus a documentary-based lighting round question!

Is good movie season on?

This week—oh no! Da7e's stranded on Mars! It looks like David, Patches, and Katey will have to go rescue him. But first, they'll review Ridley Scott's The Martian. That and answers to The Intern-themed lighting round question on this week's review episode.

And Emmy Streaks discussed.

This week, Katey, Patches and David are here to debate the merits of Ryan Adam's cover of Taylor Swift's 1989 album and how this cover album should be followed by a Mandy Moore cover album of Katey Perry. Then: The Emmys were this week and unlike the Oscars, the Emmys are an award show of streaks. What's up with the award chaining. Finally, inspired by Johnny Depp's turn as Whitey Bulger in Black Mass, the gang talks about how performances have been helped and hurt by prosthetic work.

87 – TIFFITWR, The Toronto International Film Festival Grab Bag Special
| 15. September, 2015

"Don Jon" Premiere - 2013 Toronto International Film Festival

And David mentions Carol even though it's not playing there.

This week, Katey, Patches and David are in Toronto. Katey skipped a party to record, Patches has been there about a week, David has been there about three hours, but has pre-screened some awesome films and is fresh off Telluride. Da7e sits out the week because it's a late-night stream of consciousness podcast about all the movies of the next half year and which are worthwhile. Get out your notepads, it's time for the 2015 TIFF podcast! 45 Years! Anomalisa! Emma Watson! The Martian!
