177 – Dark Tower, Columbus, 2017 Summer In Review!

The_Dark_Tower.0

This week, Patches, Katey, and Da7e manage to hold on to David Ehrlich for half the podcast as Da7e and Patches wonder what went wrong with The Dark Tower single film adaptation, and David begins to pitch everyone on Columbus, a charming indie that's coming out. Then, technical difficulties fell David mid-description and the remaining 3 hosts have to soldier on to discuss just how good this Summer Movie Season has been to us.

Then, David joins the group to talk about his upcoming wedding and why it reminds him that he loves Forgetting Sarah Marshall, then David/Da7e/Patches mansplain Wonder Woman in review-style to Katey, who has yet to see it.

Finally, we bring in Kristy Puchko of Nerdist and Comic Book Resources to talk about Wonder Woman and some of its uglier backlash.

There are no small parts, just small…whatever.

This week, David Ehrlich takes a sudden vacation to switch jobs, so Katey, Patches and Da7e have run of the war room. After a review that asks for fewer political opinions, the group unwisely decides to talk about the Tribecca Film Festival scheduling the anti-vaccination documentary Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe then pulling it from the schedule after public uproar. Then, Batman V. Superman made a lot of money at the box office…so just like 10 Cloverfield Lane, we have to stop and wonder what that means. Finally, Wonder Woman’s brief appearance in Dawn of Justice prompts us to talk about our favorite movie roles that don’t take up a lot of screen time.
