REVIEW – Spider-Man: Far From Home
| 3. July, 2019

This week, David, Da7e, and Patches get together to talk about SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME with FULL SPOILERS in a good-old-fashioned REVIEW episode (that ends up lasting longer than it needs to once it becomes apparent David very much disagrees).

A GAME OF THRONES PODCAST THAT IS TALKING ABOUT OTHER GREAT POP CULTURE DURING THE OFF SEASON

With Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair, Dave Gonzales, and Neil Miller from Film School Rejects!

Welcome to another off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS!

This week, it is time for another psuedo Thought Bubble (Dave and Joanna's former comics media podcast) for Sony's newest entry into the Spider-Man franchise: Into the Spider-Verse! The story of Miles Morales and alternate Spider-Heroes coming together to save Brooklyn impressed both hosts, who cover the movie generally and some known-quantities of the future of the Spider-Verse. Then, they dive into a SPOILER discussion for the second half, including some mild speculation.

STORM OF SPOILERS TOUR: Sundance and Thought Bubble Special

A GAME OF THRONES PODCAST THAT IS TALKING ABOUT OTHER GREAT POP CULTURE DURING THE OFF SEASON

With Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair, Dave Gonzales, and Neil Miller from Film School Rejects!

Welcome to another off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS!

This week, Neil is phoning in from Park City Utah, so we dedicate the usual Game of Thrones News Segment to Sundance news so Neil can address the Netflix invasion, a couple of good rom-com movies, and a non-spoiler discussion of Get Out. Then, Dave and Joanna loop back around to the comic book movie news and television stuff they've missed. Most importantly, Joanna tries to describe FX's new X-series Legion and how it both does and doesn't have mutants. Then, right at the end in a tangent, Dave talks about the very end of Split and doesn't think it's a big deal because the movie is already out, but he spoils Joanna.

IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE SPOILED FOR SPLIT – Skip to the Outro (01:02:52) once you hear the WARNING around 58 MINUTES IN

THIS WEEK'S TIMECODES:

0:00:00 – Intro, Reviews, Sundance

0:19:36 – Thought Bubble Segment!

00:58:13 – WARNING – Spoilers for Split

01:02:52 – Outro, A Series of Unfortunate Events

A podcast about Comics Pop Culture!

Hello FITWR listeners, Republic City Dispatch fanatics and Storm of Spoilers/Cast of Kings fantasy nerds, we’re back for more comics discussion!

New comics enthusiast Joanna Robinson of Vanity Fair’s Hollywood and The Station Agents podcast is joined by a Spider-Man fan,  Da7e Gonzales of Geek.com and  Latino-Review.com

No matter your level of engagement, if you’re interested in comic books and their surrounding pop culture, this show’s for you!

THIS WEEK: Joanna and Da7e are back, although there isn’t a ton of comic book news discussed outside of this year’s Eisner Award Nominations. Otherwise, Da7e has seen Captain America: Civil War and Joanna hasn’t so there’s a spoiler-free prep section (spoiler free in the sense that you should know Black Panther and Spider-Man are in this movie already). Then, recent Doctor Strange and Iron Fist developments has the duo revisiting how actors of Asian descent are getting the shaft. Finally, a quick jaunt through The Flash (Zoom!), iZombie (Joanna loves it!) and Agent Carter season 2 (Da7e caught up)! Oh, and The Killing Joke comes up again because WB released the trailer for the R-Rated animated Batman film.
