dunkirk

This week, Katey, Patches, David and Da7e have two FREE FIRE Blu Rays to give away before they dive into this week's topics: First – David decided to watch the Luc Besson films that he had missed so he could rank them all in preparation for Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets so the group talk about the eccentric director, then GAME OF THRONES IS BACK!, finally, Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk is getting a 70mm IMAX release which David says is great, but the state of IMAX has the other host concerned about just what it's for.

Plus Comic-Con 2014 Wrap-Up and More Lucy

This week, Katey, Da7e, Patches and David managed to all stay out of San Diego during Comic Con which puts us in the unenviable position of sorting out what was cool and what wasn’t purely out of the news that made it out on the internet. Then: David’s absence during last week’s Lucy review was felt, especially when you hear his real opinions about the ScarJo action flick. Finally: Will bundling intellectual properties into megafranchises butt-up against an ever rabid fandom and destroy the blockbuster as we know it? Da7e says yes.

Lucy and Hercules Sittin’ In A Tree

This week, Katey and Patches amplify their own brain capacity by bringing Buzzfeed Film Critic Alison Willmore to discuss Lucy, the Scarlett Johansson-led pseudo-science action picture from writer-director-producer Luc Besson. It’s a little bit Taken, a little bit 2001, and reactions are all over the spectrum. From there, Katey and Alison segue from strong woman to strong man for a look at Hercules, starring the definition of muscle-laden: The Rock. Is it a gift from the action gods or a painstaking labor? All that and your answers to this week’s Brett Ratner-themed lightning question, on this week’s review episode.
