307 – Pandemic Check-In, Eurovision, Hamilton on Disney+
| 10. July, 2020

This week, Katey is on vacation, so it's just the guys here to make weird jokes and talk about media. First, David, Patches, and Da7e bring their media they've been watching for a Pandemic Check-In. Then, Patches and David want to caution you off Eurovision. Finally, Patches saw Hamilton for the first time and Da7e saw the stage show for the first time on Disney+ after being obsessed with the soundtrack. HAMILTON! Shout out to our boys at Emerson.

STORM OF SPOILERS TOUR: Hamilton (and Musicals)

SOS_LAIKA_TwitterPost

A GAME OF THRONES PODCAST THAT IS TALKING ABOUT OTHER GREAT POP CULTURE DURING THE OFF SEASON

With Joanna Robinson from Vanity Fair, Dave Gonzales from Geek.com and Neil Miller from Film School Rejects!

Welcome to another off season tour episode of A STORM OF SPOILERS!

This week, our hosts take trip to Yorktown via Lin Manuel Miranda's Broadway sensation Hamilton! It was by far our most requested off season tour stop and on top of providing a few production insights to the show and Joanna sharing her knowledge of the play's production, the crew spends a good deal of time sharing personal memories and trying to dig into what it is about musicals that make them a special form of storytelling and adaptation.

THIS WEEK'S TIMECODES:

0:00:00 – Intro, Game of Thrones News

0:14:58 – Hamilton and Musicals

1:24:54 – Bubbling/Fall Preview Preview

117 – David Talked To His Chiropractor
| 4. May, 2016

Ratchet-and-Clank

With Special Guest Chris Plante!

This week, Katey, Patches, Da7e and David are joined for a third segment by Chris Plante of TheVerge.com because David was forced to see video game film adaptation of Ratchet and Clank and we thought maybe an expert video game opinion was required to answer some of the deeper questions of the film’s mere existence. Before that, the regular four hosts talk about the state of modern theatrical comedy, since Da7e saw Keanu this weekend and was one of the few

And get out your sorting hat!

This week, Katey, Patches, David and Da7e stop to consider ACTUAL CANNIBAL Shia Labeouf, who just watched #AllMyMovies (well, his movies) at the Angelika in New York while a camera was pointed at him. Was this art? Are we feeling good about Shia now? Then, Hamilton's Lin-Manuel Miranda has declared himself a Slytherin on Twitter so Katey asks Da7e if this is accurate, then tasks him with sorting the other hosts. Finally, three movies by female directors came out last week (The 33, Love the Coopers, By the Sea) and Katey only saw one of them. Does that make her a bad feminist? Does it make us bad critics? If we want more women directing big movies, do we have to turn out for every big movie that happens to have a woman as a director?
